About the Clinic
The DAGSY clinic provides comprehensive assessments looking at cognition, development, and behavior for children who are diagnosed with a genetic variant that may be associated with atypical neurodevelopment.
What to Expect During Your Visit
The DAGSY clinic focuses on providing a comprehensive assessment and recommendations where applicable. If actual treatment and follow up is necessary, this will typically not occur through this clinic, but guidance will be provided to access these services elsewhere.
Initial appointments generally involve a complete developmental assessment with the patient and interview with parents. We aim to collect detailed information about the cognitive and developmental profile of each patient, as well as a solid understanding of any behavioral or psychiatric concerns.
To this end, patients will interact with a psychiatrist, psychologist, and psychometrist who will complete these respective assessments.
Parents will be interviewed by the same team and will fill out several questionnaires. Families will have a feedback appointment where they will discuss the results with the providing care team and they will receive a complete report at a later date.
