On Canada Day, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) had a very special visit from Chicago Blackhawks’ Left Wing, Bryan Bickell, and the Stanley Cup. Bickell’s visit was a truly Canadian addition to the SickKids festivities, making this Canada Day one to remember for many of our patients. Bickell was greeted with a long line of eager kids waiting to meet their hockey hero and hoist the iconic Stanley Cup. Bickell was great with all of the children, bringing smiles to their faces and helping to make some dreams come true.

On June 15, Bickell won his third Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks. Each player on the winning team is given one day to spend with cup, and Bickell chose to spend part of his with the patients and families at SickKids in an effort to give back to his community.

Accompanied by his wife Amanda and immediate family, the trip to SickKids was a family affair for the Bickells. As Ontario natives and new parents themselves, the visit hit home for Bryan and Amanda.

Thank you Bryan Bickell for bringing the cup home to Canada and making our SickKids kids very happy!
