Drs. Zulfiqar Bhutta and Mike Tyers named Highly Cited Researchers for 2022

Two scientists at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) have been recognized in Clarivate’s list of Highly Cited Researchers for 2022.

Drs. Zulfiqar Bhutta and Mike Tyers were included in the list among 6,938 researchers from around the world. Each year, the list identifies global researchers who have demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field(s) through the publication of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top one per cent by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index.

Bhutta, a Senior Scientist in the Child Health Evaluative Sciences program, Co-Director and Director of Research at the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health, is world-renowned for his research on global maternal, newborn and child health.

Tyers is a Senior Scientist in the Molecular Medicine program and Associate Chief of Innovation and Infrastructure at SickKids Research Institute, whose research interests include the development of synthetic biology approaches for drug discovery in infectious disease, neurobiology and cancer.
