Dr. Zulfiqar Bhutta named Highly Cited Researcher for 2023

Dr. Zulfiqar Bhutta at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) has been recognized in Clarivate’s list of Highly Cited Researchers for 2023.
Bhutta was included in the list among 6,849 other researchers from around the globe who have demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field(s) through the publication of multiple highly cited papers. These papers rank in the top one per cent by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index.
Bhutta is a Senior Scientist in the Child Health Evaluative Sciences program, Co-Director and Director of Research at the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health. His world-renowned research is focused on newborn and child survival, maternal and child nutrition, and early childhood development and micronutrient deficiencies. In addition to his work as a surgeon and paediatrician, he holds professorships at many universities, including at the University of Toronto in the Department of Nutritional Sciences and the Division of Epidemiology, Dalla Lana School of Public Health. He is also the founding director of the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health and the Institute for Global Health and Development at the Aga Khan University.
