Biography

Dr. Muhammad Ali went to medical college in Pakistan and subsequently did his paediatric training at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan. Dr. Ali completed a Paediatrics Fellowship from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (FCPS). In 2006, he joined SickKids as a Clinical Fellow. After a three year Fellowship in the Division of Haematology/Oncology, Dr. Ali completed a Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Clinical Fellowship and continued working with the BMT team for two years as Senior Clinical Fellow before becoming a Staff Physician in this section.

Research

Dr. Ali’s clinical and research work is focused on stem cell transplant for patients with metabolic-genetic diseases, transplant-related complications and immunotherapy for patients with mixed donor chimerism or minimal residual disease post-transplantation.
